It started with a smell.

A few years after moving to Townsville, I used a reed diffuser — Japanese Honeysuckle — and within seconds I wasn't in Townsville anymore. I was back in Melbourne, in the tiny room I lived in for a few months, where a friend visiting from Slovakia had once bought me the exact same scent at Queen Victoria Market. We were there together, I loved it, and she gifted it to me. I hadn't smelled it since. But the moment that fragrance filled the room again, the whole memory came rushing back — the room, the visit, that whole chapter of my life — like no time had passed at all.

That's when it hit me: scent doesn't just smell nice. It holds places. It holds people. It holds moments you didn't even know you were saving until they come back to you, all at once, out of nowhere.

That's when I knew: I had to bottle that feeling and give it to other people.
